The early warmth of spring didn’t make my apple trees very happy. They’re much more in favor of this Redbud winter we’re experiencing. Of all the blossoms of spring my favorite are my granny apple trees: a Jonathan for Mamaw Terry and a Crabapple for Mamaw Adams. The women brought me great joy when they were alive. The trees planted in their memories continue to bring me joy. Thankfully the blossoms are finally getting the weather they need.
