You remember my friend Chuck, who works at the Nunn Center from time to time. Recently, he’s been working on interviews with Porter G. “PG” Peeples, Sr. If you’re not familiar, PG Peeples might be one of Kentucky’s finest. Raised in the coal camp of Lynch, Kentucky, he made his way through the University of Kentucky and soon became the youngest person in the nation to direct the Urban League in Lexington, Kentucky. He has led a life of service and advocacy ever since, earning the respect of everyone he meets. When Chuck found out PG was coming in for another interview today, he made it a point to be in the office so he could meet the man he has come to admire and greatly respect. It was a beautiful thing.
