I heard Abby’s little voice at the end of the hall. I grabbed my camera and began my approach. The closer I got, the less she talked and the more she smiled until, finally, she was in full Abby Picture Pose. Look how cute her pose is (above)! She then wowed the mommy co-worker crowd with her kindergarten mad spelling skills.
“Abby, can you spell Roxanna’s name?” Jen Bartlett, her mother, asked. She spelled ‘Roxanna’.
“Abby, can you spell your name?” She spelled ‘Abby’.
Roxanna then asked, “Abby, can you spell your mommy’s name?” She spelled ‘mommy’.
And that is exactly how to start a day: with warm, wonderful laughter and a priceless smile.
