“Hope is not about proving anything. It’s about choosing to believe this one thing, that love is bigger than any grim, bleak shit anyone can throw at us.” ~ Anne Lamott
Yesterday was not just a bumper day because I saw the Lunch Ladies, but I also happened into The Drum Center and saw my homie Dave Farris. I was afraid I wouldn’t catch him, but there he was in all his smiling glory. Sometime back Dave turned me on to Vince Grino at The Drum Center as someone who could lend a hand refurbing my Ludwigs. I just happened to still have them in the car from last Friday’s jam with The….oh gosh, I don’t remember what we’re called – the band with David, Melissa, and Chris. I want to say The Reckless Abandons but that’s not it. That’s not a bad name for a band, but that’s not this band. Anyway, drums still in car = trip to The Drum Center. I’ll need to sell a little plasma and maybe somehow monetize Wally’s possum videos, but the baby Ludwigs are getting their much deserved attention. Look here in about a week for their unveiling. I’m super excited about them and it is always, always, always a treat to see Brother Dave.
