“You never know when you’re living the last ordinary day before life changes. That’s part of what makes ordinary days so precious.” ~ Unknown
The last item in Hero and Shero’s house left today. It was Shero’s chest of drawers. The delightful woman who bought it took the drawers out to move it, and luckily for me, she did, because several things had fallen behind them, like this old newspaper article circa 2005 and her cute little black beret. Jen Adkins will recognize the E.B. White quote. It was printed on the back of her mother’s funeral program. Attached to it was the Thank You card the family sent in return to Hero and Shero. It was very touching. It felt like Christmas finding these things because she kept her most personal and valued collections in her chest of drawers. Lord willin’ and the creek don’t rise, the house will be on the market next week. Now that I have her beret, I’m ready.
