“Love is the quiet art of noticing where the flame lives in someone, and standing in front of the wind when it starts to flicker.” ~ Unknown
Woke up feeling a little funky. I was fortunate to see my GP instead of going to the ER, and my reward was that I was greeted by the lovely and talented Ms. Roberta Taylor, who could make even a dying person feel good. Fortunately, I wasn’t dying, but something was definitely going haywire, and Roberta reassured me I’d done the right thing by coming in. Well, that was followed by a couple of hours of other things in other buildings, and I finally came home with a heart monitor to wear for two weeks. I had a pre-scheduled eye exam this afternoon, so it was back to the medical campus for that, where my delightful twelve-year-old-looking doctor said as soon as he walked in the door, “Oh, I see we’ve had a BIG birthday this year!” Thanks for that. Would you like to hear about my morning since we’re gonna talk about how old I am? I didn’t really say that, but I wanted to. Anyway, as I was leaving the eye doctor’s office at Shriner’s Hospital, I saw from the Chandler walkway both buildings I’d been in this morning. The UK medical campus is huge, and growing. This was not the day I had expected, but it was a day I’m grateful for. Sometimes, little things go wrong, so we can find and fix the bigger things we can’t see. Plus, I got to hang out with dear Roberta, and that’s never a bad day.
