One of my stops on Friday was to deliver the cookbooks Shero had ordered for Martha but never had the chance to give her. I didn’t have time to visit properly, but this smile was worth any time I had. She said, “I sure wish I could talk to her.” Me too, Martha. Me, too. We’ll just have to talk to each other about her. That’ll make us laugh so hard it’ll be like she’s here. I love Martha as good as Shero did. She is salt of the earth and honest as the day is long. A keeper, if ever there was one, and I expect she’ll enjoy looking through those cookbooks and think fondly of her friend. That makes my heart sing.
