good friends

I can’t remember the first time I met Bill and Sarah Cloud, but I’m pretty sure it was with Angie, either at a gig or at one of Angie’s parties. Bill and Sarah stood up with Angie and Jerry when they married in Las Vegas, however many years ago now, thirteen or fifteen maybe. In any case, Angie and Cloud, as he is called, have been friends for a very long time. Sarah died suddenly and unexpectedly just days before I got to Oklahoma. It’s usually the man that walks on first, and in some ways, I think we prepare ourselves for that, so when it is the woman that goes first, it feels especially hard, especially since Sarah was young by my book, at only 55. Cloud was holding up pretty good when he came by for a visit, but his heart was clearly broken as expected, and our’s were broken for him. One thing I love about Angie, and I think Cloud and many others would agree, is how her door is always open, and her heart is always ready to help a friend.
