“Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.”
~ Mother Teresa
The Fayette Cigar Company on Main Street has always seemed to me like a Hallmark store for men. Their little Santa display in the window got my attention as Santa in his windswept beard moved to and fro. The $5.00+ pack of Marlboro was a bit stunning for this ex-smoker, but the Zippo lighters brought back fond memories of my adolescence, when it was a real gift to receive one, especially if your name was engraved on it. I still have all of my Zippos. Each one has a story of friendship that I wouldn’t trade for all the years I’ve taken off my life with those nasty cigarettes. It wasn’t a good decision to be a smoker. It was a great decision to be friends with those exquisite people.
