Lily’s nickname is Baby Ginsu, given by who else? Auntie Crystal Heis. Lily appeared on my porch late at night, two tiny eyes glowing in the headlights. She was just 4 months old. My beloved Sadie was nearing the end of her 17 years. Lily made sure I wasn’t without unconditional love, albeit a vastly different kind of love than her canine counterpart. Sometimes when I need that affection the most she rises to the occasion. That is, when she’s not living up to her nickname by ripping wallpaper off the wall, her current hobby.
