This post makes the 1,095th blog post in the outhouse and draws to a close three full years of a project that was only supposed to last a year (a leap year at that). I still have people tell me they look forward to the posts, and how uplifting they find the quotes. Every once in a while they like a photograph, too. That’s a bonus. I would have never predicted such a reaction when I started. Not all my ideas are this fulfilling, certainly. There have been plenty of days I didn’t have much to say or didn’t feel like taking a photograph or just had a plain rotten day. Every single time that happened, I made myself post, and every single time whatever was bringing me down was gone when I hit ‘publish’. What excellent, cheap therapy!

I’ve made a space for myself in 2015 (top). It’s filled with music made by others plus a place for me to make my own. I’ve filled it with some of my photography. Its building allowed me to focus on what I want 2015 to be like. There’s a lot of music lined up already. I’m more than ready for that. My life feels empty without it, filled instead with busy work that essentially means nothing. I’ve also declared some places of the house as mini altars (bottom). In 2014, I was privileged to see several personal altars. They make sense to me as way to honor what we believe, and make a home for our spiritual growth within the confines of our homes. Lori-Lyn Hurley was a big influence in this. I owe her a great big thank you for helping me remember that I used to do this rather naturally. It’s time to go back to that; back to small significant spaces, and music, beautiful soul-quenching music. So, here’s to 2015: a year to take back the best parts of ourselves. Thanks to each and every one of you who walk this path with me. You are a blessing in more ways than you can possibly know. Namaste.
