“May the new year bring you new strength, new hope, and new dreams.” ~ Unknown
It was a year unlike any other. Despite much loss, there was a brilliant amount of wonderful things that happened, too. I’m grateful for all of it, even the loss. It just means I’ve loved a lot, and boy, I picked some good ones to love. Here’s to the people who have gone on to become ancestors.
January – Whit Chandler
February – Michael Ann “Tike” Franklin Carpenter
March – William “Bill” Marshall
July – Bryan Bartlett
August – Larry Evans, Sr.
September – Norvin “Shorty” Terry
November – Janet Marie Adams Vest
December – Joyce Reed Bliss
And here’s to the people who lifted me in soul and spirit. There are far too many to mention, but suffice it to say, if friends were monetary riches, I’d be the wealthiest woman on the planet. As a gift, I spent the afternoon with BFF Deb Chenault and Banjo, eating, talking, and ringing in the new year, albeit in the daylight. My wish for us all is for happiness throughout 2023, daylight and dark.
Lest we forget all the famous people who left us, too. Thanks for adding something to the joy of living. Barbara Walters (Dec. 30), Pelé (Dec 29.) Christine McVie (Nov.30), Leslie Jordan (Oct. 24), Loretta Lynn (Oct. 4), Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II (Sep. 8), Olivia Newton-John (Aug. 8), Nichelle Nichols (Jul. 30), Naomi Judd (Apr. 30), Taylor Hawkins (Mar. 25), Madelaine Albright (Mar. 25), Thich Nhat Hanh (Jan. 21).
This concludes the 11th year of the outhouse.
