“Joy doesn’t have to wait until the hard stuff is over. It can exist in simple, ordinary moments alongside the mess. Joy isn’t a reward for overcoming pain; it’s the practice that helps us get through it.” ~ Tiny Buddha
I was invited to talk to a class this morning about oral history, and specifically, how I have used it in my own historic preservation work. It was humbling to be asked, and the timing was pretty darn good because I needed a little something other than funeral arrangements and estate settlement stuff. Then, I got a much-needed haircut. Come Saturday, I won’t be looking like a shaggy dog. That’s a good start!
