river birch fail

Yea, so, I might be the bad neighbor in the mature neighborhood. I kept all the trees trimmed, even took some out that were over lines and ready to fall on the house, but I forgot about this one. In my defense, it’s a new tree for me. I’d forgotten what happened to the neighbor’s – now mom and dad’s – river birch when it snowed, or had ice as the case may be. As soon as I can stand up in the drive – which I still can’t because it’s solid ice – I guess you’ll find me out there with a chainsaw. I love this tree and I’m really, really sad to see it go. I think I’ll buy another, maybe two, and plant them in the back, someplace safe where it can be itself and bend all it likes.
