“Let’s be good to people for no reason.” ~ Unknown
Since we returned to the office after COVID-19, I’ve had a shift in the special collections reading room on Thursdays. I was leaving my shift today and saw a stack of new pamphlets. I was taken aback when I picked one up. What was my name doing on it? Then I remembered that I’d been asked to speak to the Kentucky Genealogical Society about Kentucky newspapers this summer. Shew, lordy, I nearly panicked, like it was the FBI’s most wanted list. Anyway, I’m looking forward to talking with them. As I’ve said on here many times before, our newspapers are vital to genealogical research, especially for our Black citizens who have family that may only be documented in newspapers until and sometime after the first Civil War. It’ll be fun and much better than being on the FBI Most Wanted list.
