“I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots in my career…
I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life And that is why I succeed.”
~ Michael Jordan
I spent the day with my folks. I got a real treat with Cave Run Lake being frozen, side to side, beginning to end, this after two days of appreciable thawing. I don’t remember the last time I saw the lake frozen. I’m not sure I ever have, come to think of it. It’s beautiful.
I took a little extra time to soak it all in, even taking a side trip on Paragon-Craney Road. I didn’t get far, what with winter flood waters. The last time I was on this road was Senior Skip Day 1983. Back then it connected to Hwy 519 by a tunnel. They’ve since filled in the tunnel and cut through the hill. That’s not as fun. But I took a vacation day so that’s sort of like a skip day, even though the boss knew. In any case, it was a fantastically beautiful, love filled Valentine’s Day in Eastern Kentucky.
