“What if, instead of spending our lives doing, doing, doing, performing, performing, performing, we spent more time exploring, asking, listening, experimenting, reflecting, striving and becoming?” ~ Eduardo Briceño

rehearsal at night

Rehearsal at night means a smoke break in the dark. Not everyone in the band smokes, but we all go outside anyway. When Crystal and I were in college, she would always go outside with me while I smoked. Many of the best conversations happen over a cigarette, even if you’re not the one smoking. Fred (not pictured) and Neil remember when I smoked and they will sometimes comment on what a fiend I was for cigarettes. Hopefully, we’ve spent enough time together this time around that I’ve given them something better to remember me by. Smoke ’em if ya got ’em.

  1. I still remember when Linda Frisby was in IGA and her son, with Down Syndrome, picked up a pack of Winston cigarettes and wanted them. Linda told him “no” but he put the cigarettes on checkout with her groceries. He kept begging and finally she told him “Ok, you get ’em you’re gonna smoke ’em”. But he decided he didn’t want ’em so he put them back where they belonged. She was so funny!!! I was behind her checking out too.
