“I’ll vacuume the beach before I worry about somebody not talking to me.” ~ Unknown
I love UK for many reasons, but I dislike UK for many other reasons. At the top of that list is charging employees an astronomical amount of money only to knowingly oversell parking. That means many of us spend way too much time, while exponentially adding to our carbon footprint, trying to find someplace, any place, to park on campus. Today was one such day, and it landed me at the top of the parking structure some six floors and probably a quarter mile from my office. As aggravating as that is, it brought a chance to see a beautiful sky from a wide open vista that I would not have seen if I’d been able to park in my usual lot. Even though the walk was longer, it was very nice after sitting in a way-too-hot office for hours, and the sky became more and more interesting the higher I climbed. Once again, there really is something beautiful and positive to be found in every situation if you’re willing to be open to it.
