“Listen to your elders’ advice, not because they are always right, but because they have more experiences with being wrong.” ~ Unknown

long ago and far away

Back in 2018 (I think), I was in DC for a conference and spent the weekend with my friend Rick Warfield. We happened into this local grocery on Capital Hill and I was transporter back to the way grocery stores used to be. Shelves stocked floor to ceiling with what you actually needed, not thee 400 varieties of Oreos and Lay’s potato chips we get now. The essentials in a small space that’s plenty big enough to serve your needs, not the mega-stores we trudge through today. You know, those buildings so big you have to schedule significant time in your day to go, knowing your feet are gonna hurt and you’ll need the Ladies room by the time you’re done. I love these urban shops more than ever.
