“One of the tragedies of life is never knowing the full extent of how deeply you’re loved.” ~ Unknown
I spent the day taking care of business. As I rifled through the lockbox at the bank, I came across this photo of Shero (far right) and her high school besties. I don’t know the woman on the left, so if anyone recognizes her, please tell me who she is. Beside her is Dixie Hill Thornberry Lykins, and Nellie Kay Johnson is beside Shero. This was probably taken in 1958 or 1959 at the old WPA school, which today houses the sheriff’s and county clerk’s offices. These girls were so young in this photo, maybe 16. I’m actually shocked that Shero was wearing jeans since Mamaw was pretty strict. Still, she looks happy, and it made me smile when I found it.
