Here’s how awesome my rental sister Kelly Barnes is. After Craig’s service yesterday, she told me she was sorry I hadn’t gotten my birthday present on time. In all her grief, she was worried about my present being late. That’s my Kelly. Mind you, I had not expected a birthday present from her and Craig, so just the thought of a present was a present in itself. Stacy and I returned to Lexington and a package had arrived. I opened it and found this fabulous extra-large throw with vintage European cameras printed on it. The camera in the center of the throw caught my attention, and I broke into a smile wide as the Danube. In April 2020, I wrote about this particular model. My mother bought this camera in Germany when she and dad were there in the early 1960s. It was essentially my first camera. It’s one thing to know me so well you buy me a throw with vintage cameras on it, but it is a whole other level of awesome when it has my first camera right square in the middle. Every day, no matter what, I am reminded of how lucky a gal I am to have Kelly and Craig in my corner. Gratitude doesn’t even come close to what I feel.
