Stacy Yelton wins January! Without a word from me – meaning she must have read my mind – for the last year I’ve fawned over this turntable and that turntable, feeling forlorn that I have no way to listen to my vinyl records, some of which have been with me since childhood. Today changed all that when Stacy arrived at my door with a wrapped box and a smile. This belated birthday/Christmas gift would have me running the street with joy were it not for the day-long migraine. It is one of the finest, most thoughtful gifts I have ever received, and when this hideous migraine passes (they do eventually), I will relish that first drop of the needle. Soon after the turntable excitement, Stacy said, “I haven’t yet seen Mt. Flushmore,” as she has christened my new toilet. As you can see she approved. As an aside, both cats absolutely hate it. Lilly even hissed once. Yes, Stacy Yelton wins January and I am one blessed woman.
