Do not make the mistake of thinking this is all real.” ~ Angelyn DeBord

messenger or harbinger (Snapseed)

Last summer I was surrounded by dragonflies. I saw them everywhere I went. They swarmed my car at red lights. They swarmed me as I walked. It was one of the most unusual things I’ve ever experienced. I asked, “what do they mean?” They mean change. A peeling away of our illusions to reveal what’s really happening, what’s possible, so that change – emotionally, physically, or spiritually – can come about with clarity, with understanding. It is a maturing of self realization and perspective.

It’s too cold for dragonflies now but, the other animal that has followed me, for at least four years in fact, is the crow. The crow (raven) is also known as an agent of change or transformation. Two crow statues stand outside the University’s Art Museum.

Yup…2012 is my year.

If you do nothing else today, you must read 12 Things You Were Not Taught in School About Creative Thinking. It might help make this year your year, too. Read it and you’ll understand why.

Crows followed me before……. When you left Tahlequah, it was strange, everywhere I went I would see 2 crows, they hung out with me when I worked at the golf course….they followed me home……. Saw them in Eureka Springs…… Dawn started buying me books and crow figurines……. Gotta love the Crows……. XO

Ha! I remember that! I used to think crows were harbingers of death but, I’m changing my mind. There have been far too many signs in the last year pointing to changes for the better. And, yes, there has been a lot of death, too, but that’s part of living. An unavoidable consequence. I think it’s better to believe them messengers of good rather than tricksters. God knows there are enough of them in human form already (politicians come to mind immediately). We don’t need the animal kingdom turning on us, too! lol

Thanks for that, Kopana Crow. They are one of my totems, as I’m born in the time of falling leaves. Once, at Dead Horse Canyon, a raven appeared, rose up from rock ledge, whooshed just above my head, whistled, somersaulted in mid-air, then vanished back around the cliff he had arrived from.

NICE!!!! Hawks do very similar things to me …and quite often. They look after me. We’re lucky girls, no?
