“I have always believed, and I still believe, that whatever good or bad fortune may come our way we can always give it meaning and transform it into something of value.” ~ Hermann Hesse
I’m convinced that half the clients at Aunt Millie’s Southland Vet Hospital are UK Libraries employees. Last Saturday, when I walked in with Lilly, friend and colleague Cindy Cline was walking out (also with a cat). And when I took Wally in for his annual checkup yesterday, friend and colleague Ruth Bryan was on her way out with two of her dogs. Like Wally, Ruth’s 15 year old shepherd Fred was in for his annual checkup. Tiny dog, Orion, insisted on coming along (really, that’s what Ruth said). A companion dog for a dog I suppose. Millie often brags on Ruth, and rightfully so. She will often rescue and care for elderly dogs that no one wants. That is a level of compassion that few would match. It is but one reason why I chose Ruth as a friend.

Did not know that about Ruth but I love her for that!! Bless the old doggies. They give us so much joy and ask so little in return.
It’s so true. The older my Sadie got, the more I loved her, and the more she needed me. She gave me much more than I could ever give her.
