Stacy gave me a Magic 8 Ball for Christmas. I loved these things. I thought they were invented in the 70s when I was a kid, but lo, I was wrong. It was invented in 1946 as a paperweight. That made me giggle. I keep my new Magic 8 Ball on the table next to my recliner. After supper tonight, I was thinking about the day’s news, particularly the fight over Speaker of the House, which hasn’t happened in over a hundred years. For laughs, I grabbed Magic 8 Ball and asked, “Will Kevin McCarthy ever win the Speaker’s seat?” I turned over Magic 8 Ball and laughed out loud.
