“Pray for the dead and go check on the living.” ~ Pame Kingfisher

When I chose today’s quote I had no idea what the day held. I knew only that it was a sentiment I shared. So, I was going about my day when my parents showed up. Mom and dad, being concerned with my ever-increasing headaches after I mow, insisted they buy a riding mower to help. When I asked dad to take it on its inaugural ride, he lit up like a little kid, and that tickled me no end. We mowed, me and him, and then we went for some supper. That’s when BFF Angie Bliss Fanning called. Her husband had just died in a car wreck on his way home to her. Being with mom and dad helped take the sting out, but the shock may take weeks or months to wear off. Jerry Fanning was as fine a man as I ever met. We are not promised tomorrow, so pray for the dead and check on the living. And hug the people you love every chance you get.
