Stacy and I took our annual pilgrimage to the Berea Arts and Crafts Festival at Indian Fort Theater today. Usually, we have breakfast at Cracker Barrell first, but the heat was so bad that we opted for Egg McMuffins to get there soon after the opening. It didn’t matter. I was melting within ten minutes of getting out of the car. I’d heard from BFF Judy the night before she, too, was trying to beat the heat. She, too, was melting when we ran into each other. She was there with Nancy Lewis (a former UK library colleague), and when Stacy joined us with lemonade, we all admitted to melting. We also got to hug BFF Deb Chenault, and she introduced us to new friends. It was a bumper day for sure. We cooled off by having lunch at Skyline Chili back in Lexington. Despite the heat, I had a great day with Stacy, and it is always good to see Judy and Deb.
