I don’t ever recall sunflowers being grown in Kentucky. I’ve only ever seen large crops in South Dakota. Then, yesterday, I passed three crops between Lexington and West Liberty. This one, visible just off I-64 near Bluegrass Station, was so beautiful that I got off the highway and went back. The fence kept me from getting too close. It was a delight nevertheless. I think they’re lovely, fun, happy flowers. I think I’ll grow my own next summer.
