unexpectations

It was an unexpected Monday. I thought Stacy and I were taking Shero’s RAV4 in for a recall repair, when really, it was old home day at Greens Toyota. First, it was reconnecting with cousins Aaron and Adam Watkins, both of whom work in the parts department at Greens. Adam regaled me with his new camera gear and his plans to restart his academic career. That was all exciting to hear, especially his camera explorations. He’s a Sony man, so we had stuff to talk about. In the middle of all that, who should appear but BFF Judy Sackett. She had brought her RAV4 in for repair, too. We perused the new cars together, then settled in to watch a Wimbledon match, which made Stacy very happy as she might just be the world’s biggest tennis fan. The original plan was to go into work after what should have been a 10-minute repair. Four hours later, when I left Greens late for my afternoon meeting hotter than a pig on a spit, it became a drop-back and punt kind of day, but that was okay after old home day. It was worth it.
