Jane Rees and husband Don sat next to me to and from Washington DC. One of the special moments of the trip for all the vets was mail call at National Airport. They each received letters from friends and family with expressions of thanks for their service. Don received letters from his children, God children, and kids who’ve meant a great deal to him over the years. It was touching to see his expression as he read. It’s a small thing to write a letter to a vet, or anyone, but those few words can mean so much to those who receive them. Here’s to the revival of the written letter.
