Jon and Jennifer Adkins Reynolds: oh-my-gosh! I’m not sure there are words to fully convey how blessed and happy they make me and so many others on this planet. Every time I’m in their presence – alone or together – I come away feeling smarter, enlightened, happier. The look on Jon’s face when I asked if they heard the cicadas at their house – bwhaaaa haaa ha – priceless! “You’ve got to be kidding,” he declared. Um, no. I keep seeing nightmare scenes posted from Northern Kentucky (where they live) and Southern Ohio, but I’ve yet to see or hear a single one in my neighborhood. He whipped out his phone and played an insane recording of the 17-year-beasts in front of their house. For real, that recording alone was the stuff of nightmares. Meanwhile, Jen’s lining up the utterly adorable – and apropos – cake and cookies for her dad’s birthday. Jen is very much like her mother, and not just in looks. She is kind, witty, whip smart, and one of the most thoughtful people I’ve ever known. They both married so well, and I truly do feel like I win the lottery every time I see them. She’s gonna hate me for the pictures, but they’re both too adorable to pass up, and I love them so much they surely wouldn’t deny me the pleasure of bragging on them just a little. The outhouse is better with them than without them, and so am I.
