“To love and be loved;
To be understood and to understand;
To know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived;
This is the meaning of success.”

Tuesday. I’ve talked about it for two days now, and I’m going to talk about a third.  After my lucky brunch with Ken, after my chat-fest with Dave, I came home to a box on my porch. Thinking it had been delivered by accident, I was surprised to see it addressed to me. I hadn’t ordered anything. I opened it to find this beauty and the sweetest note from BFF Ellen Fagala. This is no ordinary book that reminded Ellen of me. This is a fictionalized history surrounding Lexington, the thoroughbred. That’s right. There was a thoroughbred racehorse named Lexington. Not only did he race, and win, he sired more thoroughbreds than any other sire. This was his job for a record 16 years. From 1861 until he died in 1875, he sired some 600 foals, over a third of which were winners. His likeness is all over Lexington, Kentucky, the heart of the Horse Capital of the World. You can read more about Lexington the stallion at the Lexington Visitor’s Center website. When I think I can’t love Ellen Fagala any more than I do, she goes and does something as sweet as this and I find I can, in fact, love her some more. My goodness, I’m blessed with the best people in my life.
