“It’s crazy how no one in this world is perfect, yet everyone is so judgemental.” ~ Unknown
I knew this day would come eventually. Lord Basil George Heybuddy Pogo decided Stacy was not only okay but good enough to sit with. He doesn’t even sit with me like that, and for him, it was a trying time because the Bat Cats (UK Baseball Team) were losing in the third game of their first College World Series appearance. And would you look at our Stacy looking healthy and bright-eyed! She had a serious bout of pneumonia, and anyone who’s had pneumonia bad enough to be hospitalized knows it’s a bit like being punched by a bully on the playground. It takes a minute to catch your wind and stand up again. Mom’s bout with it last year knocked her down for a few months, for example. Stacy is slowly returning to herself, and I have little doubt that, as soon as the heat dome over Kentucky moves on, she’ll be back in her yard talking to the birds and feeding the redbud tree. Or is it talking to the redbud and feeding the birds? Dr Stacy Doolittle does both. We are so, so, so lucky to live in a time when medicine can save us from such ailments and not one leach was used or chicken sacrificed to do it. That we know of. Give Stacy a high five for being resilient next time you see her, and keep supporting the UK Bat Cats.
