“Kindness. What a simple way to tell another struggling soul that there is love to be found in this world.” ~ Unknown
Friday was a surreal day. I started my day at 3 am virtually attending the IFLA conference in Denmark, and after a brief nap, it was off to Macie’s graduation at Rupp Arena. At the same time, our aunt Judy, Uncle Darrell’s wife, was in surgery at UK. Six hours later, we were all at the hospital as Judy came out of surgery, several body parts lighter and very ill. Macie could have done anything, gone anywhere; after all, it was her graduation day. Instead, she came to the hospital with the family. It is little wonder she graduated with her state nursing aid certificate before she graduated from high school, and she begins her nursing degree at UK in August. Our cousin, Jessica, is also a nurse. Her son is headed to medical school, and her daughter will attend MSU for radiology this fall. With a family as big as The Terrys, we need all the medical expertise we can get.
