“I’m suspicious of people who don’t like dogs, but I trust a dog when it doesn’t like a person.” ~ Bill Murray

work in progress (snapseed)

Shero has been very busy prettying up her outdoor kingdom. She started last week with bird feeders that came with the house. Now, she’s like the bartender at the bird bar, and there are lots of customers: a pair of cardinals, a pair of bluejays, a beautiful purple finch, a mockingbird, a pair of mourning doves fighting over the third female, and more house sparrows and brown finch than I can count. Today, we finished building Shero’s flower garden beside the bird feeders and topped it off with her father’s favorite outdoor chair. He spent hours in that chair waving at people who passed by and whittling cedar sticks. Aunt Charleen and Uncle Tony brought it down last weekend. Hero’s contribution to the garden was to suggest rose bushes. Shero got him two. They’ll be beautiful. The kingdom is a work in progress, but Shero has made a great start.
