“Hope will never be silent.” ~ Harvey Milk
My apple trees have loved this spring with its cool temps and ample rain, but this past week’s sudden high temps have been unpleasant. In the last two days, many leaves have turned yellow and fallen to the ground. I’m hoping the fruit hangs on. Have I mentioned lately how much I adore my apple trees? The fruit in this photo is Hazel, the Jonathan Apple. Hannah, the crabapple, doesn’t have much fruit, but then she often doesn’t. The two grandpa peach trees have both died. Orville went first last year, and Thornton has completed his journey this spring with not a single leaf in sight. Meanwhile, Pam Meade gave me a White Oak peach seedling around 2019, and it is extremely happy. So am I.
