a great past blast
There was a young man who would come see me drum. He was a musician, too, so we always had fun things to talk about. He also happened to be first cousin to bride Cassie Bick. Tonight, I saw Matt Menard for the first time in probably 15 years. It thrilled me to talk with Matt, now the proud father of two stunning children. He’s as handsome as he ever was, and even sweeter, which I didn’t think possible. Jamie, his fiance, is equally awesome (I actually met her at the shower last month though no one introduced us). After an absolutely stellar night, the bride and groom drove away in the coolest car on the road. If you look hard, you can see the distorted figures of Crystal Heis and me in the bumper. The whole weekend was unforgettable: with a reconnection to Matt (who invited me to come jam, and I will), and second shooter honors with Crystal as icing on the wedding cake. I am truly the luckiest woman alive.
