My mom told me once that she used moss as carpet in her playhouse. I did the same. All these years later I still fancy myself a child rolling in its softness; laughing; breathing it’s earthy scent like a lover’s cologne. But when you get a patch like this one, all you want to do is look at; it’s tendrils too delicate to take the foot. And that’s okay, too. It all works to make a beautiful home.

    Nearly our entire backyard is covered with thick moss. And it’s beginning to overtake part of the front as well. Anytime you’d like to relive your childhood, come on down! (And I mean that….)
