I am legal once more. I got lucky and caught an opening for the written driver’s test in Frankfort today. It’s been over 41 years since I took that test. Today’s version is different and easier than it was in 1981. For example, anti-lock brakes weren’t standard in 1981, but they show up on the test now. The proctors and I hit it off immediately. We were cracking jokes like old folks while the 16 year-olds were face down in their tests. As each teen approached the proctors for their results and were told they passed, consistently the response was a shocked, “Really?” It was very cute. Of course, that was not the response from the one kid that did not pass. Bless his heart. And how lucky am I that Shero’s still with us all these decades later to go with me? I wish Hero could have come along, but he was having a great day at home while Sheema kept him in line. So, anybody wanna go for a ride?
