My old buddy Alisa Marshall Burnett turned 60 years old today. Mom had these pictures from when we were 7 or 8, and Alisa came over to spend the night. Bless her heart; to this day, I don’t know how she put up with me. I was all energy all the time, in constant motion, and she was just sweet and patient and laughed at my silliness. I don’t know what I would have done without her, but I know this: my childhood would have been much more chaotic without her. I will always be grateful for her friendship over all these years. There’s just none better than Alisa and the blessing of a true friend.
