Most of the family in Lexington gathered to celebrate Aunt Charlene’s birthday. Her fiancé, Tony Adkins, was in town to help her mark another trip around the sun. She had gifts, and cards, and birthday cake. We laughed, and talked, and nearly froze to death in the restaurant. Only cousin Missy and I seemed okay with the temp, but then we’re at that age when cold is just fine for us. I enjoy spending time with my family. We seem to do it more as we age, and I’m really cool with that. Anytime you have the chance to celebrate a loved one’s birthday, that’s a gift.
