Just when I think I can’t be loved any more than I am, a little brown box from Arkansas arrives in my mail. In it, this totally cool retro Kodak apron, replete with chemical stains (or BBQ, it’s hard to say). It came from BFFs David Orr and Dawn Ward for my birthday, which of course, was two months ago. I like doing birthday gifts this way: buying when it’s the right gift instead of a specific date. When you buy gifts for the date, you often buy it because you should, and those gifts don’t always hit their mark (in my world, that’s sadly too true). But when you do birthdays based on the perfect gift, not only do you get the recipient something they actually want/like, but you give them something that will really mean something to them because you gave it with your whole heart. Love you, D-squared! I’m grilling steaks in this apron next time you’re here.
