“Whenever you come across something beautiful, it’s God saying, ‘Ahhhh, you found me.'” ~ Rumi
I had a great day! I was invited to participate in the Monuments Workshop, a project out of the college of law that gathers people from across the state who work toward discovery, research, sharing, preserving, and promoting shared and sacred places in some way. It could be part of the built environment or a landscape of significance. I saw some old friends, and I made new friends, in particular, a couple from Paducah that I regret not photographing They were extremely kind, and funny, and generous, and generally beautiful people. Really, the room was full of people like that; they made me feel comfortable and inspired. I also felt hopeful, and that’s hard to come by in these tempestuous American days. I slipped out long enough to give a presentation, which also went pretty well. And I made new friends on that call who were just fantastic people. It’s such a refreshing day when you can connect with people at every turn, and today was one of those days. I’ve had, and am continuing to have, a pretty blessed life.
