I’m so proud of my parents. They were presented with a wonderful plaque and party for their 40 years of service to the Morgan County chapter of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). They work hard for the DAV doing funerals and special events. Dad acts as chaplain, and speaks at all the schools. Mom helps with the paperwork and acts as bugler (I’ll tell you about her bugling talent someday). They make a powerful team. Mom couldn’t attend the festivities because she’s ill. I took the leftover cake to her, and said dad would bring home the plaque later since he pretty much told me to leave because they had business to attend to. I laughed, grabbed the cake, and did as I was told. I sure wish mom could have been there. She would have been so pleased. I’m so proud of my parents.
