smoke ’em if ya got ’em
After another rainy night several days ago, I awoke to find my smoke tree looking ethereal. The lingering dew and muted morning light deepened the pinkish hue of the blooms and brightened the whole tree. When I left for work this morning, the female mallard had returned and rested beneath the nearby lilac bush. I waved goodbye and let her be. She picked a pretty place.
