“A ship doesn’t sink when it’s in the water. It sinks when water is in it. It’s not so important what happens around us. The matter is what happens inside us.” ~ Inet
Had the best Saturday I’ve had in a long time when Betina Gardner conspired with me to get our mothers together to help with my thesis. First, we ate incredibly delicious food of Betina’s doing, and then I interviewed Charlie and Martha about surviving the tornado. Then, I interviewed everyone in the photo about being from West Liberty, what it was like before the storm, after the storm, and today. There was plenty of salacious gossip, too, hence the looks at this moment. Let me tell you, we had some laughs today. I think nobody had a better time than Shero. She even told us that we’re related through the Coffee/Hamilton line (her mother was a Hamilton, and Martha was a Coffee). My job now is to find the connection. I’ll gladly add that to my never-shrinking to-do list. This right here is the finest bunch Morgan County ever produced.
