“A stranger’s compassion can make a world of difference.” ~ Oprah Winfrey

It has been quite a day, let me tell you, but I knew it was going to be great when, on my first stop at the vampire’s—I mean, the lab—I heard, “Kopana!” I looked up, and who should I see but my dear old friend Esther Edwards, whom I hadn’t seen in years. She was scheduled to visit the Vampires, too. As luck would have it, they were down to only one vampire this morning, which gave us extra time to catch up. That wasn’t a bad deal in my book. Of course, the next thing out of Esther’s mouth was, “don’t take any pictures,” but she caved. You see, Esther was one of the earliest supporters of the outhouse, and after all these years, she’s still reading along. God bless her for that, her support, and her friendship. It was worth the vampire bite to talk to her and be reminded of why I started the outhouse, just how far I’ve come, and how much I’ve learned. Esther sure means a lot to me.
