A few years ago, as dad was driving along a country road, a deer bolted from a ditch and jumped partly through his side window. It broke his jaw, deeply embedded glass in his head, and resulted in the eventual loss of sight in his left eye. On days like this when he goes to the doctor and mom can’t go with him, even just to be something as minor as being a second set of ears, I’m grateful to lend him a hand. Plus it puts mom’s mind at ease, so double bonus for me.
