“Deep down you know there’s a habit costing you the quality of life you want. Cut it.” ~ Unknown
Karen Roseberry was excited as a kid at Christmas to make and give Shero a Quilt of Valor. Karen and others made the quilt she and her husband Bill presented to Shero this evening. Quilts of Valor was started in 2003 from a dream of healing for those who served. The quilt makers donate their time to make quilts, usually for local veterans who have been nominated to receive one. The catch is the veteran must be living, hence the reason Karen didn’t make one for Hero. Shero accepted the quilt for the both of them, though.
Mom and Karen have a special bond. They’ve gone to church together for decades, sang in the choir together, and celebrated many an event together over the years. Karen calls Shero her special friend, but I think it’s mutual.
