Tiz the season of the long shadow, and it seems fitting that today I heard and saw the Beatles’ last song, Then and Now. If you haven’t seen it, take three minutes and be wowed at how good technology has become. And if you were born before 1980, consider just how lucky we were to have been on this planet when the mastery of the Beatles was in full force. Their artistry now comes full circle in this final song, and it is utterly amazing. As Ringo says in the short documentary made about the song, “it’s the closest we’ll ever come to having him [John] back in the room.” Combined with the video and it’s the closest any of us will ever have of the Beatles together one last time. It’s got all the feels.
